Why This Workshop

Not Another College Event

Most student events give you a certificate and a photo. This one gives you something you can actually use.

Real clinical problem · revealed on the day

Problems Pulled from Real Healthcare

The challenges you work on are drawn from actual healthcare settings — medicine, pharmacy, nursing, dental. Not textbook scenarios. Problems that real clinicians and patients face right now.

Industry mentor · embedded in your group

Mentors Who Work in Healthcare

Industry experts sit with your group throughout the session — not on a panel, not in a Q&A. They challenge your thinking, sharpen your solution and push you toward something that could actually work.

Structured solution doc · ready to take forward

You Leave With a Real Output

By the end of the workshop your group has a structured, implementation-ready solution — defined problem, defined user, defined product, commercialisation pathway. Something you can put in your portfolio and develop further.

Cross-disciplinary · 8 student communities

Work With Students Unlike You

Medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, engineering — all in the same room, working on the same problem. The best healthcare solutions have never been built by one discipline alone. Here you experience what that collaboration actually feels like.

Healthcare Summit 2026 · Hyderabad stage

Inside a Real Industry Summit

This isn't a college fest. It's inside Healthcare Summit 2026 — where C-suite executives, hospital directors, investors and innovators are gathered. The energy, the conversations and the connections are industry-level.

Certificate + mentor feedback + summit access

Recognition That Means Something

An official Healthcare Summit 2026 certificate, structured feedback from industry mentors on your solution, and two full days of summit access. Not a participation ribbon — a real addition to your professional profile.

The Workshop

Healthcare Problem Solving Workshop

The Workshop

A Structured, Mentor-Led Build Session

Healthcare Problem Solving Workshop is a 2-hour live workshop inside Healthcare Summit 2026, Hyderabad. Students work on real clinical problems in cross-disciplinary groups — guided by industry mentors — and leave with a structured, implementation-ready healthcare solution. It is not a lecture. It is not an idea pitch. It is a hands-on build session with a clear output.

The Approach

Problem Based Learning — Process First, Product Always

The workshop runs on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) framework — a methodology that focuses on the process of learning and investigation through real, structured clinical cases. Students don't come with ideas. The problem is revealed on the day. Groups form, investigate, and build — with mentors embedded throughout to push every solution toward something clinically usable and commercially viable.

Learning Objectives

What You Will Build Towards

PBL Step — Define

Identify & Clarify the Problem

Participants will be able to read a real clinical scenario, separate facts from assumptions and clearly define the healthcare problem — before any solution is attempted.

PBL Step — Analyse

Map What Is Known & Unknown

Apply structured PBL inquiry — list what the group already knows, identify knowledge gaps and define what needs to be learned to design a credible solution.

PBL Step — Collaborate

Work the Problem as a Team

Engage in structured group discussion across disciplines — clinical, technical and strategic — to generate, challenge and refine solution hypotheses with mentor guidance.

PBL Step — Apply

Design a User-Grounded Solution

Apply new learning back to the problem — design a solution grounded in real user behaviour, clinical context and adoption reality. Not what looks good. What will actually get used.

PBL Step — Build

Structure an Implementation-Ready Product

Convert the solution into a structured product concept — defined user, clear use case, delivery mechanism and clinical applicability. A buildable, real-world output, not just an idea.

PBL Step — Reflect & Present

Present & Defend the Solution

Communicate the solution with clarity — problem statement, product concept, user behaviour rationale and commercialisation pathway — ready for real-world evaluation and scrutiny.

Problem Reveal

Real Problems, On the Day

Clinical challenges are presented live at the start of the workshop — drawn from real healthcare settings across medicine, dental, pharmacy and nursing. No advance briefing. This is intentional.

Form Groups

Cross-Disciplinary Teams

Participants self-organise into groups around a problem. Mix of disciplines encouraged — clinical thinking combined with engineering, pharmacy or design creates stronger solutions.

Build Sprint

Structured Problem Solving

Groups work through the PBL framework — define the problem, explore what you know and don’t know, identify learning needs and develop a solution.
Mentors from industry are embedded with each group throughout.

Focus

Idea to Commercialisation

The frame is not academic — it is commercial.
Every solution is evaluated on whether it could become a real, usable product.
Behaviour change, user adoption and market pathway are part of the conversation from the start.

After Workshop

Submit Your Solution

Submit your group’s solution after the session.
Evaluated on problem clarity, behavioural grounding, clinical usability and commercialisation readiness. Every participant receives a certificate. Teams receive structured mentor feedback on their submission.

Workshop Facilitator & Mentors

Focus

Usha Anand

MHPE, Maastricht University, Netherlands

Specialist — Health Professions Education & Behaviour Change Communication

"The question she always starts with is not what the product teaches — it is what the user will actually do differently after using it."

With 6 years of clinical experience and 15 years designing healthcare education systems, Usha occupies a rare space — medically credible and trained in why people change behaviour. She ensures what teams build is not just clinically accurate, but genuinely usable and behaviourally grounded.

Industry Mentor

Dr. Rahul Verma

Co-Founder at NanoHealth

Specialist — Clinical Workflow Design & Patient Outcomes

"Every prototype has to survive its first encounter with a real patient. That's what we test for."

Embedded with teams throughout the workshop to ensure clinical grounding. Provides real-world perspective on what actually works at the point of care, helping teams avoid solutions that look good on paper but fail in practice.

Industry Mentor

Dr. Satheesh Kumar Reddy

Chief Scientific Officer at FOXO

Specialist — Go-to-Market Strategy & Health Product Scaling

"The gap between a good idea and a real product is almost always a market problem, not a technology problem."

Guides teams on the commercialisation pathway — from user validation and market sizing to pricing models and adoption strategies. Ensures every solution built in the workshop has a credible route to real-world use.

Industry Mentor

Dr. Sakharam Garale

Founder & CEO - Renovare Healthcare Solutions

Specialist — Drug Adherence, Patient Education & Digital Pharma

"Medication adherence is a behaviour problem first, and a product problem second. We help teams understand the difference."
